Depends one what your definition of making a living is.
If your aim is to live comfortably lets say 100k ish a year then yes it is difficult to making a living playing poker. Like sabby said it is possible to make 2k a month but very few people make it big.
Also I was kind of in your situation myself. I had 0 credits after 2 semesters of school because I dicked around way too much. I ended up taking a year off of school and I am now going back and things are going pretty good. The year off helped me mature etc…
And yes I also looked at alternate ways to make a living and trust me none of them are as easy as they initially seem to make it.

Yeah, I did an idiotic thing. I have a feeling that Mathie always post negative comments on the forum. To be quite honest, I feel like helping you understand how much of a shit bag you are, and that everyone most likely knows that you must hate yourself, to waste time trying to bring others down. But I won’t. lol. Anyways, yeah, I’m trying to move up to the bigger buy ins way too soon. At the sit and goes, I was only making 5-10$ per 2 hours. I’m just going to try multi tables and tournaments. Came in 600th on a 4k entry tourny, with me being chip leader at one point. Mind you, this was my first online tournament. What gives me hope is, I wasn’t that lucky the entire tournament. Also, I have checked out a lot of your stats, some are very impressive I must say. Probably a better player online, than I am. I need to improve on my low entry sngs.

Credit cards are designed to do nothing but make banks rich. Get a prepaid card, load it with your budget and you’ll stick to it.

I might do that or just make myself use debit cards only.

Hey bigbagman i don’t know what make you think you are a good poker player if you just played your first online MTT and decide to go Poker for living. It’s like i drive very fast car so i can be a formula1 driver or i did score from half field so i can beat messi.

I don’t wanna bring you down, but on the first page when you first ask this question i gave very serious answers considering you have been a good winner but never took it seriously but now i learned that you are just HIGH or pathetic.
To be honest mathieupoker is right, you call yourself good poker player according to what ? I mean yes you can even be better than any1 but no 1 can know it without trying it but WITH 0 knowledge and 0 experience you just decide to Go poker for living and seeing it as a LAST chance.

Wow go look at miror and say I am only 20 something i can do better than this, %99 of us here can’t become poker pro including me, unless we luckily hit very big and taking it seriously afterwards. But you trying it is like a handicaped guy going for Barcelona Try outs.(no offense to handicaps just making my point)

Hope you can go back to college or win lottery but before poker, i think you should take life more seriously, people gave months and years for learning any proficeny and becoming master of anything takes even longer. You can’t just say i will become Spaceman when you are 20, its ok when you are 4 tho.

Good luck in Life m8, i wrote a very friendly 3 responses to you at begining of this forum but after reading rest of this, i don’t even wanna believe you are 20 cause in that case you really need help.

Hope you have a good life, unlike mathie i would feel sorry for any1 but he is not douche he is just telling truth and thats always harsh.

Ive been playing for a living for almost 10 years, and I have still never recommended anyone play poker for a living. It is a brutal lifestyle, that has been glorified by TV.

Anyone who wants to take poker seriously, has to take life seriously. Let me explain. If you want to be great at poker, and if you want to make money at poker, you HAVE to be great, then you have to have complete control of your life and your lifestyle, as it all ties in with the ultimate quality of your play. You will NEVER be able to play GREAT poker when you are going through such a drastic emotional swing right now with school and your parents. Your BEST option, is where you MAN UP and sit down with your folks and throw a fastball right down the center of home plate. Tell them you fucked up, tell them your confused, but that you will make things right. Tell them that you love them too! Even if they ‘kick you out’, thats really ok! You are 20 and just starting life, just get a little focus and clarity and figure out what you really want to do, then do it. It really is that easy. Best of luck!

Greetings to all. The situation with gambling in Europe is rather ambiguous. In 20 countries, gambling is officially prohibited by law. However, in most states, active work is underway on the state regulation of the sphere of gambling. In particular, it is planned for the legalization of gambling in Cyprus. It’s interesting that in some countries where gambling is allowed, its advertising is prohibited. Therefore, I can’t always play what I want. Maybe here https://casinoanalyser.com/casino-software I can find a casino without restrictions? What do you think, people?
