ChipMeUp talk / PL08 hand near FT did i play this right? i dont think u can fold here. you have a stack to pot of ratio of about 1.5. its a heads up situation and in order for him to both have u beat for the high right now and have a better low draw he must use all four cards. by this i mean if he has a2,23,or a3 he needs both the other two cards in his hand to make a better high hand than yours. i think cbet call shove is the correct line. |

Poker Strategy / plo hi lo hand i will start by saying i would have most likely gone broke this handnever open limp in late position. also if you want good advice on how to play, i would putting up the decisions that need to be made without showing other peoples hands. because here people say you only have 4 outs becuase the know the other person has the full house. there is a good chance i loose all my chips on this hand as well but i would not have lost them the same way as you. i would have open raised and then been all in on the flop. as played you can probably fold on the flop although jamming isnt bad. u bet, were raised and then cold called. i would assume (given his hand i this is a bad assumption and some other information on how he has been playing could change this assumption) the caller has a3 and could prolly safely fold. if u r not going to fold u should prolly just go all in on the flop. on a side note though (this is also quite result oriented and somewhat irrelevant). if you knew you oppenets exact hands getting it all in here 3 handed is positive ev based on chip equity. you have 35% equity when all three hands are tabled on this flop. here are three relevant simulations. 1st actual hands As4s7ctc 35.85% Ah2h5d7s 55.03% 9h9c7h5h 9.12% now give big blind a3 As4s7ctc 11.94% Ah2h5d7s 44.71% 9hAc3h5h 43.36% this one takes away full house from cutoff by changing his 2 to a king. As4s7ctc 53.87% Ahkh5d7s 36.07% 9h7h9c5h 10.06% final simulation is both the other 2 comibined. caller has a3 and rasier just has trip 5s with king in place of As4s7ctc 25.00% Ahkh5d7s 23.46% 9hAd3c5h 51.54% so if we are against both an a3 and a full house we are in alot of trouble. if we are against just a3 and trips we are still -ev but not too bad with the dead money already in there. if we are against just trips and no a3 we are positive ev, and finally if we are agaisnt two trips and no a3 we are pretty solid favorite. summary, lol at folding pre. never open limp. rerasie or fold flop, either is fine. |

lol @ "The art is to find a hand like 5566 and to win with it against the whole table in a raised pot"
as for the hand. prolly should bet the river but i think u made bigger mistake on turn. you need to be putting in the last bet on turn so as played check raise. u have middle set with second nut flush draw. on that board u need to extract max value on the turn against the many draws that can be out there or the worst made hand he may have. its not like he can float u and go all in on river, worst case senario u check call river and loose. |

Poker Strategy / Omaha HI/LO No limit ??? what am i doing here . no you should not have put all your chips in on that flop.In my opinion u should be folding pre instead of raising, 6s 7s and 8s are not good cards to have pre. you had two of those and a 3 and a 5 so you should be folding these types of hands pre. i dont think this hand should be played ever when u sitting that deep stacked and are new to the game. I myself wouldnt play it except for maybe an open raise in late position and the right table conditions. As for the flop, u are two deep stacked to play this all in, if it was booya25 who shoved and joe folded then you would call, but commiting all in on the flop with that hand with a stack to pot ratio over 5 is not good. i also think that the fact u should fold on the flop is more evidence as to why u should fold pre. see in this situation you got one of the better flops that you could hope for and you still dont really know where you are at in the hand. as far as feeling lucky, no not really that lucky. while he was favorite equity wise. splitting the pot there is the most likely outcome with the hand he turned up |
