General / OT / Omaha Coaching / Resources Hi guys,I have never enjoyed NLHE cash games, and found myself donking off a fair bit of my bankroll playing it. Typically I have enjoyed 45/90 seat SNGs on FT. With the intro of rush poker, I have dived into the Omaha cash games and found myself slowly building confidence and knowledge on the 10/25c games, and have also done well higher up (although breaking my bankroll management). I really want to take my omaha game to the next level by doing some decent training / reading. Would really appreciate any guidance on good coahing sites or books that will take me beyond what my own intuition has done so far. Thanks in advance ;) Leeroy |

Chipmeup Events / Event 47735: Full Tilt - $32K GTD - NL Holdem Sigh alright mate...... that's BS. Could understand an AK or maybe even AQs calling, but that's raw. Drop me a pm if you're looking to run a few more of these as I'm keen, but will be working so could flick some in advance if you will reserve one for me etc! |

Poker Strategy / Read the Set! Will usually look for a mid to late position limper in multiway pot, who checkraises on a raggy board.Otherwise, a 1/2 pot weak looking bet on a raggy board with an A or K whereby their action doesn't seem consistent to a pre flop hand holding A or K. I only play low levels, and the play is fairly easy to read. Mid / high stakes you'll find guys leading out with sets for hand deception. This also gives credibility to their C Bets which can be extremely valuable in later hands. |

IMHO my play would be dependant on what I had seen from the players earlier on.
Interesting check from the SB. I'd be defending against the flush / straight draws aggressively there. With that flop consistency I would have put myself against 2 pair, a flopped straight before seeing any action. With the SB still to act after your shove, I guess I may have laid this. I'm not sure how deep you are in the tourney, but looking at stack sizes I'm picking it's pretty early. Guess it depends if you need a decent stack early to run deep, or if you can grind out a midstack til you hit cards. If you prefer front running, I'd call. Personally, the more I think about it I lay it down. But I also can't blame you for your play, particularly after seeing the muppet with 5s......... (and hence back to my opening statement that my play would be dependant on what I had seen). Not sure I really answered anything here..... moreso just filling in time at the office between meetings.......... alalalalallalaaaaa |

Poker Strategy / right or wrong call What was your intention for just limping in? Did you want a steal raise from one of the guys to follow? A bit of bad timing, and a bit of bad luck, but either way I don't really like the limp unless you wanted to get all your chips in after someone raises. (which happened so you may have got what you wanted but got unlucky) |

Chipmeup Events / Event 34340: Cake Poker - $250K - NL Holdem Thanks for the conern in the pm Rwestover, but I'm with Craig for the reasons he outlined. He has an outstanding record at Cake. I'd rather pay 220% on a well proven horse, than dump it on someone at 140% like myself who is a break even player yet to ship a big win. And no, I'm not a friend, haven't staked him before or am not stupid. |

ChipMeUp talk / losses recovering policy , "cake" offering You'd want to be very clear about the policy if you're playing high variance events (MTTs). You oculd easily end up shipping a big cash and taking nothing for yourself! |

Poker Strategy / How to win 180max $12 -turbo - PS articles Establish pushing and calling ranges depending on how many rounds of blinds/antes you have can be valuable. And when short stacked never run with the thoery Ax is a strong pushing hand as you'll usually be dominated when called. You're better to shove with Q10 J9 67 etc when desperate as you're much less likely to be dominated if called. (domainated as in you hold A2 v A10) |
