Looking to back Players! / I need some help to post my $750K event

I tried the Quick Deposit but got a message that the service was unavailable and implying that I should try again later. I really did try every avenue before coming up with this creative approach. (I also asked the CMU admin to let me post the event and let me pay for it out of shares I sold, but they did not respond to that offer nor did I expect them to.)

I was shocked when I came on the site and saw none of the people from a year ago hanging around. I guess that the percentage of winning stakers is so small that few hang around for long. I was hoping a friend from back then would remember me, but darn if I saw any of them.

I can see that constant scamming would harden site participants. If I had appreciated that I probably wouldn't have wasted people's time with my offer. Even so I was asking for $CMU in order to post an event. It would be trivial to check that I actually posted the event and that I registered and played in that event. Hard to see how this could have been a scam.
More likely is that no one thought I would cash. I am willing to leave it at that.

Looking to back Players! / I need some help to post my $750K event

I couldn't deposit because the banks were closed today and I won the seat late last night. It was just a timing thing.

I have handled hundreds of transactions on this site and my ratings are fine if you bothered to look. Among other things I set up and administered a big pool for consolidating backers for the WSOP ME in 2009. I managed over $1,000 of other CMUers stakes and bought shares in a dozen or so ME players. If I wouldn't abscond with the $1,000 people sent me, what makes you think I would stiff someone for 3 bucks?

As it was, I built my starting stack of 3,000 to 7,200 which put my in 280th place early on (with 550 slated to be paid.) But I picked up ppK on the button on the last hand of hour 2 I wasn't able to get away from my opponents' ppA. Oh well.

But thanks for helping police the site so well. I am sure that you will be commended for saving someone from the possibility that a CMUer with good transaction ratings like mine might be trying to stiff someone out of $3. Of course I doubt you will see me here again anytime soon if ever.

I guess it is not happening. Never mind then. I'll keep all the winnings.

That is my plan. I will do that the moment someone sends me some $CMU as per above.

You would think, but having won my way in via satellite I only have tourney ticket. I can unregister, but then the ticket is only good for some other $750K tourney. Hopefully that makes it clear why I would like to sell a few shares.

H all,

I did the satellite/satellite thing and won my way into today's 750K on FTP (which you can go check if you wish. I am caracara on FTP.) I would like to sell some $5 106% stateback shares, however my CMU and FTP balances are practically empty and so I am a bit stuck.

Here is my first-come first-serve deal: Transfer $2.85 to my CMU account and I will give you a $5 share. (I guess that $2.85 on FTP would work just as well.)

Send me a PM before doing the transfer to make sure that you are first to the table on this. I will post back here when this deal is no longer open.

Thanks in advance...

Chipmeup Events / Event 24577: Poker Stars - $109 Deep Stacks - NL Holdem

Twenty minutes in I doubled up and chipped up from there to 6,310 to sit in 8th place early on. That last about 15 minutes. I hit a set of 8s on the button but a large stack called my big bet and hit his nut flush on the turn. Somehow I managed to escape with 3,160.

Later made that 3.682 by going all in over the top against someone who raised my preflop UTG raise. Later hit a 2 outer on the turn after a checked around flop, but lost to a 4 outer on the river. Down to 2,382.

Hung around there until a missed open-ended str8 draw put me to $1,782. Right before the 1st break I isolated a weak player with a smallish stack in the big blind. He called and then went all in on a A22 board with nada while I had AK for an easy win which put me back to a stack of 3,614 at the break.

I was still hanging in with 3,164 when a weal small stack went all in. I decided to try and isolate him and pick him off and so I went all in with KQs. Unfortunately the guy to my left had ppA and then hit quads and IGHN.

Thanks for the shot Tony.

The League / Staking League Wk 1 (Start 28th June)

Another reason I lke the "best tournament of the week approach" is that a player can only win 1 $109 stake per week. So since I won a stake in the first event of week 2, I didn't play in the second event. I was there and chatted up a few of the players for awhile, but didn't feel right about getting in there and mixing it up and perhaps knocking someone out when I already had won my stake.

The chip counts for some of the above players are tracked here:

I will add other CMU players to that list when I get a few minutes.

ChipMeUp talk / 2009 WSOP Seat Giveaway

Yeah he sent me a slightly incoherent but excited message saying that he would be playing Monday. No explanation, but it fits. After all he is a marketing guy who not only plays decent poker, but works for a company that reps some poker players. Seems to fit what they were looking for.

I was worried that they would look over all of our photos and then just throw up their hands and hire some strippers to play the Main Event for ChipMeUp.

Chipmeup Events / Event 24231: Custom Event by kidpython

BTW that "open" share was apparently due to a misclick on my part. It was actually bought by Haze_Ventura.

Also I want to record here that I owe Kobus22 $5 since he sent me $10 instead of $5. I will take care of that when the event is concluded.

Technical Questions / Time editing.

This is another situation where event voting would be useful. If anyone is spotted abusing the start time setting, CMU members could vote it down and get others to do so as well using the chat box. The negative voting score on the event would then be an obvious red flag and perhaps help discourage this particular kind of angle shooting.

Technical Questions / Time editing.

I am not quite sure about this, but it seems to me that Custom Events (where you can only change the start time once from the default of 6 months hence) are sorted by the original start time and not the updated start time. So this ends up manifesting as the equal but opposite problem whereby custom events that are immenient according to the updated start time are not shown near the head of the search list.

Also we desperately need to come up with some way that custom events can be categorized to aid searching. Maybe a pulldown option with choices like "Sunday combo MTTs", "combo MTTs", "SnG series", "cash games", "split shares", "non-poker", "other", etc. would be helpful.

The shares for Grant Levy (grunter) in the WSOP Main Event are SOLD OUT, but I have some pieces available at $5 a share.

Grant told me that he is playing today, July 4th, in Day 1B and so this event is closed to buyers after noon Pacific Time.

Suggestions & Feedback / Event Voting

In the manner of Digg or Reddit, every CMU member should have the ability to vote an event up or down. Then the home page can have not only "Featured Events" selected by the admins, but also "Most Popular Upcoming Events" as selected by the members.
