ChipMeUp talk / resolving issues between CMU members

just logged on, its late and i need to think about this reply rw. thanks for it btw, i am a fan of brutal honesty.

and thx zeb just wanted to be clear... i didnt think u were referring to me there, just wanted to check. cheers.

actuallty i will reply now rw-

not asking for special treatment, i think a lot of volume players/buyers would be happy to have the option of not getting a pm every time someone buys a share. why would a volume player want to receive hundreds of them a week clogging up inbox? its madness.

i may have had 15 events listed in december but they are nearly all combos/customs so its more like 50-70. which may mean several hundreds of share purchases. so leading into a sunday i can get a genuine/useful PM from an individual that needs a reply, rather than the automated ones, and within hours its on page 3 or 4 of my PM inbox. and if i dont check PM inbox for more than day or two then well its on page 10...

still on PMs - i think if someone wants to send me a pm about an event they should at least tell me the event name and date but obv a url (OF THE EVENT LISTING NOT SITE HISTORY) is really simple. in the same way why do so many people say in shoutbox "hey X" and wait for a reply... why dont u say "hey x blah blah blah" in the one shoutbox msg. same with anyone seeking help to do a transfer between sites isnt it eassier to say "hey i am looking to transfer x$ to my stars account, my stars id is X if u can help pls tell me yr tilt id".

big fan of simple concise succint communication... doesnt a url say it all in one easy step. the date, the event, the number of shares bought, the total amount... bang its all there in one hit. one simple cut and paste...

if their is some trouble finding a payment then i certainly think a date of payment is a helpful and reasonable request.

i think "clicking payment received" for hundreds of share purchases a week is incredibly time consuming. esp when they come through at diff times and days and then having to switch between event listings and marrying them all up is - i am really struggling to find the words here... "insane" comes to mind eventually... i much prefer to go to whatever events i cashed in and go through the buyers and amounts and check both stars and tilt cashier history, find the payments there and pay them out - for a volume player it is far more efficient and wise use of time. AND i certainly dont want to receive payment recieved PMs either clogging up my PM inbox more and people cracking the Sh*ts" cos i havent replied to a PM< or i get one and they say this is the 3rd time i contact u abut this and i am like wtf??? really??? i dont want any automated PMs whatsoever just the ones from individuals that need a response from me.

anyway i guess thats my reply and at same time i think yr 3 key point summary is valid. i certainly do need to stay in touch more and update faster.

thanks again for straightforward reply.

manager nah... assistant maybe... BUT i cant be giving access away to my cmu account... let alone poker accounts... so i dont know how to do it... maybe the cmu lads can find a way to do it... id love to be ablt to ship X amount at the end of a day to someone and they pay it all out... but that takes a lot of trust and paying 3.5% too big a leak... i mean theyd need to get paid something but it could be as much as $350/week way too big a leak. soooo i guess ihave to try and be better next year with the damn details.

ChipMeUp talk / resolving issues between CMU members

Hey All,

Just wanted to write something about resolving stuff between CMU members. In particularly updating/refunding.

I am qualified to speak on the issue since i am prob one of the worst for updating for several reasons....

(1) I play 6-8 tables at a time on average and when a player busts often the table closes and u not sure where u finished or how many runners or payout. The lobby may not close but if i have a bunch of tables running cant look up results at same time. And breaks i really need to get up walk away, get food, drink, stretch whatever.

(2) At the end of a 10hr session (longer when i final table one of the later starting events) i am stuffed, drained mentally and physically. Updating is tough- getting the details right in that condition is diff for someone like me who isnt a details person. Often do it next day unless a big payout and i on a high, have had buyers railing etc. When its a $5 payout do people really need to get it 5 mins after the event?

(3) sometimes results dont appear in OPR (officialpokerrankings.com) file for hours afterwards.

(4) sometimes i am just really slack.

Having said all that i have always resolved things in the end. My latest refunds were full amount despite playing a couple of the events (incl a $700 PCA sat and $215 sunday 2nd chance for eg). On occasion i have also refunded more than the shares for sake of good will and just to penalise myself for not playing everything i said i would.

On that note there are genuine times when i might not be ale to play last minute reason (family issue/filmindustry work which is often late notice) AND there have been times i got it in so good so many times and in a short time frame with so many beats its tough to be optimistic positive stay calm and play best. AND if i feel my BR is majorly under threat i will opt to step down until things even out. AND for some reason i havent run even remotely ok on a sunday all year and one day after 4-5 sick "runner runner miracle" "perfect perfect" &***%^$%^ beats in about 10 minutes i had to shut it all down- i mean wtf i have never NEVER had a heater like i do coolers online.

ANYWAY stay on target wrck... some tips for resolving things QUICKLY and AMICABLY...

(1) cut and paste url of event u are talking about. i dont know why anyone woukld presume to know how i can respond to "did u play that event" or similiar. WHAT EVENT? The 100k? i play it nearly every day.... which one?? CUT AND PASTE URL IN EVERY PM please.

(2) Incl date and time of transaction ESPECIALLY if u clicked pay by stars but then sent via tilt for some reason. I dont see yr payment i dont payout! obv. You need to tell a player if that happens. ALso good to include number of shares bought total $ etc and if u bought into multiple events and sent one bigger payment that good to know too.

* i have to say at this point admin had the wrong email for me until few days ago... old email/PC hacked while in vegas mid yr.

** ADMIN pls add a function where i can stop receiving hundreds of share bought or sold notifications they clog up PM box and a PM from someone can be on page 3 by time i next look at it. I did try find othis option ne under "settings" but couldnt find anything. I am not ignoring PMs just only see maybe 10% of them.

Basically just to be really really clear and make it easy for other person to look into what u are talking about.

Goes without saying but being polite even when incredibly frustrated or annoyed is likely to get a better response. I mean calling someone an asshole and then "buying all their shares in an event" but not paying for them is ridiculous. And telling them u are going to do that to every event they list is childish. What does that achieve really? Sweet FA. If i need to restrict share buys to one per person i will or more likely i will bar that person from buying my shares.

I been here for a while. Like the community. BUY a LOT of shares. Have done well for my investors and am +ve roi on both stars and tilt despite a terrible downswing lately, not to mention losing at least 20k on sundays this year (sunday bloody sunday).

FYI my CMU roi includes some big buy events i got staked for and am yet to get a result in - some wsop, la poker classic, melb champs, appt sydney etc and some big online evetns too. So thats about 20k worth of buy ins. I have a +ve roi on cmu aside from those.

Think thats about it- just be clear and simple and provide all relevant info and try and be a little understanding even if someone like me who not a good updater but ALWAYS make good in the end. If u cant cope with that or u need yr payouts within 30 seconds of event finishing i am not a good person to buy into. If u can cope with that great. I am trying to become a good poker player not good accountant... think by 2012 i will be a good player. Then i will pay someone to do all these details for me.

Love the site. Met some guys in vegas and sydney who are members here and love being able to spread risk across selling shares and buying shares. I mean the site has been great to me, allowed me to step up a lot this year and i learnt a lot as a result and incl some BR mgmt.

Anyway i am not going anywhere.

Peace.

Merry Christmas,

Will Wrckngbll Mitchell

I am still looking for a wrckngbll card protector or something that i can use as a card protecor- a mini wrckngbll of some sort and will buy plenty of shares from someone who can help me find one!

Suggestions & Feedback / Suggestions

(1) PAYOUTS page that lists a buyers stars and tilt id - if a player has a big win on one site they may prefer, or only be able to, payout on that site but if many of the buyers have bought from the other site then it gets complicated and time consuming to search everyones id name on the other site... know what i mean?

(2) i think there is a payout across multiple events function but whast about buy across multiple events? joe blow lists 5 new events and if i want a piece in each then whats the easiest way to do that?
