Suggestions & Feedback / Auto-bidding on auctions

You make a very valid point about the value. Most betting sites also have odds ranging from 250-3000 to 1 for known players for the main event so you could just throw your $100 on one of those instead

Suggestions & Feedback / Auto-bidding on auctions

That's what I did last night on 3 auctions. I thought I set some good maximums but I woke this morning to see I had won nothing and my cmu balance had decreased significantly. Oh well...

Suggestions & Feedback / Auto-bidding on auctions

Oh how I miss thinking I've got a great shot at outbidding someone, seeing 'last few seconds' and then the highest bid box changes to odyssey_2002 so I turn my computer off:)

So how do you win now? These auctions are going to go until there is only 1 person left with money in their cmu account

ChipMeUp talk / Main Event Special -- 13 CMU players for $11

I'm guessing when all the shares to the event are bought he buys up a share of each player through CMU providing each of these players has shares left. This is why he needs to sell out the event quickly.

I'm guessing you canned the rule that you can only win 2 auctions in a 24hr period?

Yes and yes. There is an option under deposits to fund your cmu account using FT, Stars, Tony G or Hansa and to transfer to a poker site you need to email cmu admin and ask really nicely:)

General / OT / I have a new hero

haha, yeah that's true only because I went to make coffee. Usually I give up pretty easily but when I get a stupid pm like that it makes me want to spend a ridiculous amount just to win:)

General / OT / More people winning auctions

Doesn't this encourage multi-accounts though? I was bidding against three people yesterday who hadn't bought or sold one share so their accounts had obviously been opened strictly to win auctions. I know the regs wouldn't risk being banned because, like myself, I enjoy the share buying more but for someone with a new account who has just won two fifty-fifty tickets and they see a 1% share of Lisandro at a FT open up i'm sure they'd think about it.
Anyway, I'm just being devils advocate because I think it does improve the auctions although now I have to make sure I have one up my sleeve for the goodstuff:) It was just an observation

General / OT / Withdrawal blocked on FT

I've been getting the same emails from Stars and FT. All the money I've won in auctions and any other money transferred from other players for winning shares are being declined when I attempt to cashout. It seems I have 2 options - clear enough points to withdraw the amount I want, which at lowstakes is going to take far too long, or transfer back to all the people that have transferred to me which is near impossible

Suggestions & Feedback / Collusion in auctions

Are you serious? So if you see two people bidding against each other, making bids every 10secs or so, you still pay the 90c bidding fee in the hope that your 1c extra will scare both of them off? haha

Suggestions & Feedback / Collusion in auctions

Like any form of gambling there is a strategy involved and because of the high cost to bid obviously you are not going to if you see two people in a bidding war. This isn't cheating, it is called using logic. These auctions have cost me alot but I have also won some decent prizes at minimal cost so it goes both ways. I really don't think there is cheating involved
