Poker staking is the act of one person putting up money for a poker player to play with in hopes that the player wins. Any profits are split on a predetermined percentage between the backer and the player. A backed player is often known as a “horse”. The player will then use the money to play in a poker tournament or cash game.
The concept of staking players has been around for a long time in the poker industry. It is common for poker players to get staked in live events as the buyin for these tournaments can be very large.

Poker Staking allows upcoming players to get involved in the larger tournaments without having to spend lots of time building up a bankroll at the smaller levels.

ChipMeUp is a great opportunity for people to get a piece of some of the biggest poker players from around the world.

David, someone will.. if you LIST the EVENT :-)

Please see my previous notes to you if you have any further issues. at this point it’s looking like you disregarded all of it, as you have yet to start an event!

If you share prices are cheap, and you have staked people before, you WILL get at least some buyers.

If you do not create an event, it is just not possible to get a stake on CMU.

If you have issues, read the FAQ. Or PM myself or many of the others here for help.

Look for guys that have good feed back and have played lots of events. It usually newbs that scam but there has been a few cases of ppl playing lots but still scammed. Google there names as scammers are not very sophisticated and if they are banned from other staking sites i wouldn`t back. Ask around in shoutbox.
Enjoy.

If you want to stake people in a ceartain tourny advertise it in looking to back players. If you just want to buy shares in players go to the events page and search 4 upcoming ones that are listed and choose from there(best method)

Make sure you do your homework too. You want to back players that have decent ROIs who are likely to land in the money to make you money. Keep in mind that you have to allow for multiple out of the money finishes before you get that big score.

Hi, i’m new to the world of staking, i understand the concept of how it works, but only now, after doing some research, have i realised how big it is. Does this website only apply to the online poker community, or does it also apply to live events. Also as i have not had any involvment in staking, and dont play very much online poker, its all live for me =P, but this will make it difficult to view my performance, as only my word can account for the live events. How do i build a good reputation as to aquire a backer??

You can get backed in live events, but you are unlikely to find a backer to these events unless they are easy to track. You will not find a backer for you local $100 freezeout at the casino. You will more likely find one for a wsop event or something similar. And obviously if you have decent live cashes they will show up on cardplayer or databases such as that

This is understandable, but as you say, my local tornament which i Predominantly play are difficult to track, and so my perfromance is also mot easy to track, so how can i show to the backers that i am a good investment for the larger events.
