Hi, so i recently started getting into the $22-33 holdem mtts and i noticed a huge change in play. reason im asking this is whenever i play a mediocre hand or rags i always seem to get 3bet. And i mean always. i played 500 hands and out of the ones i opened. i was always 3bet air and folded 2 with monsters. Now this isn’t me crying about my luck but more about the indications of when to 3bet and when not to. I know theres positional 3bets and also statsitic 3bets relating to VPIP and PFR but what else do you guys look for? |

if you’re going to be 3betting a lot, you’re going to have to do it with junk. Unless you card-rack it up Wzt. |

watched a mate yesturday whos got like 150k in holdem profit alone 3bet from the big blind a9o after there was a raise and a call from middle and button. It’d just be interesting to understand why that is done |

probably b/c there was a lot of dead money in the middle and it was a good spot to 3b and pick up the chips without a fight and if someone 4b/jams, he can easily fold his hance since he has a9. I’d probably b lookin to 5b jam tho hance = hand. post modified about 1 year ago |

another small point but with a9 you got an ace blocker so less aa or ak combos so just slightly less likely they got a 4betting hand. I know I’m nit picking but I think this is relevant when u make this play 5 times a day over a year sample of mtt :) my 2 cents |
