armbrust (about 1 year ago - 03 Sep 2010 23:50 UTC) The current chip counts: Tony G 249,000 |
paulo349 (about 1 year ago - 04 Sep 2010 00:03 UTC) do you know how many are left and how many start the event?and could you say where you can find updates of this event? |
Greitsma (about 1 year ago - 04 Sep 2010 00:14 UTC) Updates can be found here: http://www.partypoker.com/blog/wpt-london/wpt-l... |
paulo349 (about 1 year ago - 04 Sep 2010 00:39 UTC) so far i understood the updates of this site only 19 players started.this makes a prizepool of ca. 380k.:( |
smackman (about 1 year ago - 04 Sep 2010 01:03 UTC) 00.45 Here are the final twelve with their chip stacks. Alexander Gruissem 473,500 And lest we forget, these are the prizes they will be playing for. (Just three paid remember.) 1st – £141000 So that’s it for today! We’ve had another interesting day at the Palm Beach with the final set in the WPT Main Event and 8 levels played out in the High Roller, including some interesting Schwartz on Tony G action. We’ll leave it there for now but thanks for following and be sure to hit us back tomorrow at 4 p.m. for the resumption as we take the next step to crowning the WPT London High Roller Champ. |
Cincinnati_Kid (about 1 year ago - 04 Sep 2010 07:48 UTC) It’s a bit pity that there are just 19 Players in the Highroller Event, but 220K USD are also an interesting pricemoney for the winner. Hopefully The G is able to reach one of the the first three places. Go Tony ! |
Poort (about 1 year ago - 04 Sep 2010 09:42 UTC) Go Tony Go ! |

DwayneStacey (about 1 year ago - 04 Sep 2010 20:25 UTC) Are there any updates from today? can only find final 12 from yesterday, this is just a joke, £15k buy-in for WPT London High Roller and no poker media coverage? |
jimmiijimjim (about 1 year ago - 04 Sep 2010 20:34 UTC) yeh its a bit strange alright. |
jimmiijimjim (about 1 year ago - 04 Sep 2010 20:46 UTC) robl busted 9th its on his twitter posted two hours ago. he said that was tv bubble so they probably stopped to set that up then maybe we’ll have live updates. |

pieter80 (about 1 year ago - 05 Sep 2010 20:18 UTC) and someone has to post blinds. and some are stealing them, etc. |
jimmiijimjim (about 1 year ago - 05 Sep 2010 20:21 UTC) instead they wait for aces vs queens with tony g on the wrong end! |
Ranchorelaxo (about 1 year ago - 05 Sep 2010 20:23 UTC) any idea how many players left? |
jimmiijimjim (about 1 year ago - 05 Sep 2010 20:28 UTC) still 8. shortstack is 6bb so might nit be long till a bust out. |
Ranchorelaxo (about 1 year ago - 05 Sep 2010 21:09 UTC) ok ty |
2410686 (about 1 year ago - 05 Sep 2010 21:34 UTC) Freddy Deeb – 630,500 |
2410686 (about 1 year ago - 05 Sep 2010 21:34 UTC) 5k/10k ante 1k |
smackman (about 1 year ago - 05 Sep 2010 22:31 UTC) 23.26 We are now at 6k/12k/1k. And then incredibly, after 135 hands…we had an elimination! It took two pocket pairs to cause the damage, Jason Lester shipping 135k with pocket sevens, only for Tony G to wake up with queens behind him. An easy call for the G man, but everyone really expected a seven to spike and the shortstack to survive as has been the way of this final. But no! A board of was safe for Tony G, meaning Jason Lester is our first elimination. He wins nothing for his eighth place finish. Good game! |
SkeletorHC (about 1 year ago - 05 Sep 2010 22:36 UTC) 23.26 Go Tony Go!!!! |
smackman (about 1 year ago - 05 Sep 2010 22:42 UTC) WPT London High Roller Final Table 23.35 Freddy Deeb – 734,000 We’re astounded to see anyone blind down to less than 2 big blinds at this level. It’s incredible! |
Cincinnati_Kid (about 1 year ago - 05 Sep 2010 22:45 UTC) 23.40 Another exit! This is incredible – two eliminations in 8 hrs and 40 minutes – they’re like buses…in the middle of the Sahara… Anyway it wasn’t a mirage, we saw with out own eyes Emeline Boich put her last chips into the middle with when Tony G made it 35k. Everyone else folded and Boich was flipping – allin once again. This time her run good had run out – the board looking momentarily threatening as she picked up a turned flush draw but ultimately running out – in Tony G’s favour. Good game Emeline! She finishes up in 7th spot… 23.35 Freddy Deeb – 734,000 We’re astounded to see anyone blind down to less than 2 big blinds at this level. It’s incredible! |
Ranchorelaxo (about 1 year ago - 05 Sep 2010 22:53 UTC) Freddy Deeb – 866,000 Bubble time… |
Cincinnati_Kid (about 1 year ago - 05 Sep 2010 23:01 UTC) Go Tony Go…just one more |
jimmiijimjim (about 1 year ago - 05 Sep 2010 23:03 UTC) what a final four! hopefully we can ride one more knockout and make a cash! |
Cincinnati_Kid (about 1 year ago - 05 Sep 2010 23:12 UTC) Smith the new chip leader with 887k to Deeb’s 600k . 270k and 215k for Fitoussi and Tony G respectively |
Cincinnati_Kid (about 1 year ago - 05 Sep 2010 23:13 UTC) its really hard, just one double up and Fitoussi must go;) |
my99rx (about 1 year ago - 05 Sep 2010 23:16 UTC) go g! |
Cincinnati_Kid (about 1 year ago - 05 Sep 2010 23:21 UTC) Think next PP blog is elimination 4th place hopefully not TonyG. |
Cincinnati_Kid (about 1 year ago - 05 Sep 2010 23:29 UTC) Yes, he took Fitoussi’s chips. Justin Smith is the chip leader with 887,500 |
jimmiijimjim (about 1 year ago - 05 Sep 2010 23:30 UTC) tony just shoved over brunos raise. bruno getting a bit short now. |
smackman (about 1 year ago - 06 Sep 2010 00:07 UTC) gman doubled |
Omnipotentme (about 1 year ago - 06 Sep 2010 00:07 UTC) 01.04 We have an allin! Tony G open ships and sends Bruno Fitoussi into the tank for quite some time…eventually he folds, although Freddy Deeb makes a quick call and Tony G is facing elimination! for The G Man The board peels out – Deeb coming close but not close enough to a key card, meaning Tony G doubles and now it is Freddy Deeb who is short and looking favourite for the bubble, having been chip leader for such a long time… One double through makes all the difference though, and now Tony G is not far off chip leader Smith in 2nd place… Looking good |
jimmiijimjim (about 1 year ago - 06 Sep 2010 00:10 UTC) 55 for g and aq for deeb for those that can’t read invisible or click links! |
Cincinnati_Kid (about 1 year ago - 06 Sep 2010 00:11 UTC) Yeeesss…all is going well now ! Amazing this game. |
my99rx (about 1 year ago - 06 Sep 2010 00:29 UTC) feel my power! go g! |
admin (about 1 year ago - 06 Sep 2010 00:37 UTC) Justin Smith – 870,500 |
Cincinnati_Kid (about 1 year ago - 06 Sep 2010 00:47 UTC) Deeb 50K to Fitousso and now Blinds 10/20K 2K Ante |
Cincinnati_Kid (about 1 year ago - 06 Sep 2010 01:07 UTC) 02.05 Tony G has now ascended to the chip lead on the leaderboard…which looks as follows: Tony G – 757,000 |
peteski (about 1 year ago - 06 Sep 2010 01:09 UTC) tonys got a short lead |
my99rx (about 1 year ago - 06 Sep 2010 01:09 UTC) Get on that bike Deebie! |
my99rx (about 1 year ago - 06 Sep 2010 01:18 UTC) sik – luk box deeb |
Cincinnati_Kid (about 1 year ago - 06 Sep 2010 01:18 UTC) double up for Deeb through Tony Turn and River made a straigt for Deeb. |
my99rx (about 1 year ago - 06 Sep 2010 01:21 UTC) Freddy Deeb, Justin Smith and Tony G are all virtually level with 550k-590k. Bruno Fitoussi is the man most at risk with 284k. |
my99rx (about 1 year ago - 06 Sep 2010 01:29 UTC) (Just three paid remember.) 1st – £141000 Go G – crush them |
BurnleyJoe (about 1 year ago - 06 Sep 2010 01:48 UTC) 02.45 Folded to Tony G in the small blind, he understandably moves all-in from the small blind with … However Bruno Fitoussi in the big blind instantly calls! It’s for Fitoussi and he looks good for a double-through. However, a board of causes a scowl to flash across the Frenchman’s face and with just two outs to save him, the on turn and river hammer the final nails in his coffin! So the bubble bursts and the unfortunate Bruno Fitoussi is the man to fall, busted in 4th spot, just outside the money spots. They continue playing for the title three-handed. |
g00dman (about 1 year ago - 06 Sep 2010 01:50 UTC) Congrats ALL ITM!!! |
kickyourace (about 1 year ago - 06 Sep 2010 01:58 UTC) GL G. |

drmcoy (about 1 year ago - 06 Sep 2010 02:29 UTC) TID TonyGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
peteski (about 1 year ago - 06 Sep 2010 02:34 UTC) deeb is gone gone |
my99rx (about 1 year ago - 06 Sep 2010 02:37 UTC) on yer bike deeb! |
my99rx (about 1 year ago - 06 Sep 2010 02:38 UTC) g will take a risk here – lets hope for deebs luk |
my99rx (about 1 year ago - 06 Sep 2010 02:38 UTC) deeb was so lucky earlier – go g! |
my99rx (about 1 year ago - 06 Sep 2010 02:43 UTC) yes kingsa!!!!! |
dangood1 (about 1 year ago - 06 Sep 2010 02:43 UTC) Justin Smith finds pocket eights in the small blind and moves all-in. But Tony G has found pocket kings! Quite the cooler heads-up, Tony is looking like he will double-through here and take the chip lead. The flop is dealt out – a great flop for Smith as he now has 10 outs to overtake Tony’s advantage. The turn is the – a brick. The river falls….the ! Tony G avoids Smith’s many outs and that hand moves him into the chip lead with 1,113,000 to Smith’s 849,000 stack. The twists and turns of this monumental final just continue…. |
armbrust (about 1 year ago - 06 Sep 2010 02:48 UTC) woohoo |
peteski (about 1 year ago - 06 Sep 2010 02:57 UTC) its no match tony g is going to crush this smith im tell u guys its no match lol |
my99rx (about 1 year ago - 06 Sep 2010 03:01 UTC) The turn comes the and now Tony G leads out for 200k. Smith dwells for a long time, staring at the board, puzzled. He eventually elects to lay down the hand…leaving Tony G to sweep up a big pot and take a dominating chip lead 1,322,000 to Smith’s 631,000. standard c bet – wish we knew what he had! go g – send him home on his bike!!! |
BurnleyJoe (about 1 year ago - 06 Sep 2010 03:26 UTC) And then…it was all over! It was only a matter of time till the pair caught a flop that gave both enough to tango and with Tony G holding and Smith holding on a board…this was it! Smith bet out, Tony G shoved for his slightly smaller stack…and Smith called immediately. So the open ended straight draw for Tony G and top pair for Smith. The turn was the which changed nothing and the river…was the ! Trips for Justin Smith but more importantly he wins the London WPT High Rollers Event! He collects £141,000 for 1st place, as well as a WPT title and the knowledge that he has beaten a strong field. It’s £84,600 and 2nd place for Tony G, who can be proud of his performance, even though he ultimately fell just short of victory. Well played sir. It was a long, difficult final table that will have tested the players’ stamina levels to their very limits and both these men deserve admiration for their endurance as well as mad poker skills. We will have some winner’s shots and hopefully an interview with Justin Smith up on the blog before too long, but for now thanks very much for following us during the last week as we have followed the path to crown two new WPT champions. It’s been a blast. |
