5% reserved for tony/rayan who have been good enough to stake me several times, if they want it…. i think this is the one, my live result breakthrough (or maybe its the PCA or Aussie Millions… going to be a good summer for me anyway.)

i am playing the first day 1 which is the same day as the high rollers event is on… so i shouldnt see any of the really top players that first day.

feel great ran deep in 3 tourneys today…

285th/9077 in sunday mil (still feel ok about it even though some tard calls my AQ shove from EP with his A8s from MP forover 95% of his stack… it really is amazing how some people get so far in a huge field mtt.

53rd/612 in $109 + R

58th/900+ in 100K all in with TT beat by AQ on river…. nooooooo

going to rest up now and be fresh for this one.

So i had Jason Gray 3 to my left today. Then later Tony bond18 Dunst joind the table 4 to my left. After Jason busted Jamie Pickering came along 2 to my left. As did someone that Tony knew very well, another tough player presumably. Wasnt as easy a table i expected on the same day 1 as the high rollers event.

Anyway, a brief recap….

My 3 most significant pots included (1) a failed bluff that was called (I had middle pair in a blind battle and when called i put BB on a flush draw, i fired second barrel on turn but after it came on the river i check raised holding the K of that suit after the A was on board- midway through the hand i thought he could have a straight draw- he had bluffed previously so maybe i should call once i am not so sure about the flush draw, anyway holding the nut card i decided to raise- dumb- kind of got lost in the hand… if id stuck with putting him on a flush draw id have folded the river like i should have… first impressions!

(2); “slowplaying” middle pair which i was 95% sure was good against AK (jamie pickering)- i check called two barrels but the river was a K, tank paid of a 3k value bet into a 15k pot;

(3) later i thought a guy probably had an over pair but donked off with top top. i actually asked him if he was trying to represent an overpair…

Basically my turn decisions were terrible in the key pots. Worse than that was the divergence from my usual style of play… stack protection first and then accumulation… i didnt choose good spots in 2/3 hands maybe even 3 considering opponent.

My reads good- my inability to act on them very unusual. All 3 of those key pots i played out of position too. So bad in so many ways.

Well there it is. Brutally honest account. Really disappointed with myself, more like embarassed even ashamed.

I come back Friday with 6 BBs. Free rolling after my TT got up against QQ – sexy door card!

Was great to have a chance to see you play yesterday mate. Don’t be ashamed you played very, very well.
You could just of easily of been out on that AQ suited you folded preflop, but did a perfect read to your opponents AK.
Good luck today :)

thanks wizz- yes i made a good fold there, guess i should take some confidence from that play… i know that guy from star city cash games and after he raised it up utg i very nearly shoved- not really sure how i fold for like 12BBs there, anyway, after tanking and making a read i unhappily, very unhappily, passed. told him i made a huge fold and he showed me. i showed one of the pokernews reporters my AQs before i folded. SUITED ffs – how i fold? Anyway i was hoping he’d report it- i dont want to look like a total donk this tourney.

still steaming about making good reads all day but then not following them in hands i played – TWICE against guy on my left and also allowing Jamie Pickering to get there against me on the river. If i survive and get back in this i wont be second guessign myself anymore. i’ll make a read and if i think i am good with 2nd pair no kicker i will play it strong. Those three hands completely crippled me.

Every key pot played on my table i accurately put people on hands except for one. I raise folded a pair after jason gray bumped it up big and tony dunst shoved. I actually tuned out steaming… Jason looked like he had me crushed but i just couldnt put tony on a hand- he had the most likely hand AK. Jason had QQ. Tony got there. Im only still in cos of one good fold and sucking out with TT v QQ… when i had less than 5 BBs… i dont deserve to be but its good to still be in. need to double up in first few hands obv!
