I’ve met the requirements for the extra chips so I am among those starting with the full 10k in chips.

Starting day is Day 1A on Friday. Will try continous updates on twitter if possible (http://twitter.com/ShadowBJ21). If not possible you will get end of the day updates.

At this time they have about 1400 players registered. Prizepool as of today is $322,000.

The field includes some well known names like:

Andy Black, Surinder Sunar, Padraig Parkinson, Fintan Gavin, Noel Furlong, Jesse May, Maria Demetriou and many others.

I got confirmation from the organiser that there should be WLAN access in the tournament area or at least close to it.

In addition http://www.irishpokerrankings.com has put me on their homepage (together with other twittering participants). They will also broadcast live radio reports onsite. If you are interested in more then just my updates this page might be the best source for information around.

In addition Boyle said that they will live stream the final table: http://www.boylepokerblog.com/ipo-2009/welcome-…

Sorry guys … out way too early :-(

Didn’t get much cards and went down to almost 6k. Recovered with KK to 10k and even up to 15k. Then I lost a nasty pot with AK (TPTK) vs. a set of fives. Down to 10k again.

Now blinds and antes started to bite and I went down to little above 7k. Blinds 150/300 (25).

Got AK and there was a rais tp 1,200 in front. I called and we were heads-up. Flop is low cards all diamonds and I have the Ace of diamonds. Opponent bets 1,500. I don’t give him the flush or the a set here. Most likely QQ, JJ or TT.

Push all-in for 5,000 more and he calls with QQ. Non of my outs appears and my 60:40 odds let me go home.

Went out with 540 of 720 on day one left. For the result I just doubled the numbers to reflect a ranking after both days. So bear with me if the number is not 100% accurate!

Trying to do better on my next to tourneys on Sat. & Sun!
