Description

 SUPER 100 Step 1 challenge

Ok here’s the deal, I feel like trying something new.  I will be playing 100 Step 1's on Poker stars and this will take me some time to finish, hopefully I will be done by the end of October.  Please don’t hold me to a tight schedule as I make my real money by playing other MTT's and I will just be doing these as an extra.

After I have finished all 100 steps 1, I will begin the step 2's that I have won, and after those are done, the step 3's etc. until I get to the end*.  At this point if I have any step 6's I will play those for whatever the consensus is:  either NAPT, PCA, Etc.  Obviously the smaller buyins, the better chance to win.

If I should go on to win a seat somewhere, then you will own the same percentage of me in that event as you do in this one.

This really should be fun and has massive upside potential.  However, there are no cash payouts until I reach the end, unless I score a few step 4's or 5's and everyone wishes for me to play in a different event that accepts those tickets.

Please PM me with any questions, I expect to get this started within the next 7-10 days or if all shares have sold.  Yes it does have a slightly higher P/V but I am playing no matter what and this has great upside potential.  This should be a lot of fun for everyone to help me choose whether to go on to the top step or take the money to play in different events.

Keep in mind any events I play outside of this you will all have an equal percentage in.

Here is the link to the spreadsheet I will use to track.  I have never done a custom event so forgive me if this is hard to follow.

I would like this to be a very intereactive event based on how well I do. Once we get to the step 4’s I would like veryone who has a share to vote on my next moves.

Also, and higher steps that result in moving down levels will still be part of this combo and they will still be played. I will play this until all tickets have expired which could results in a heck of a lot of SnG’s

steadycash (about 1 year ago - 02 Oct 2010 20:52 UTC)

Per Dunkelb1’s request I will also play a few of the 90 man step 1’s to mix it up (I did not even realize they had these now). Most of the step 1’s will likely be turbos due to the volume I need to play. As I get farther I prefer non turbos so they are less of a shove/pray/luck fest.

RlseTheKraken (about 1 year ago - 03 Oct 2010 04:21 UTC)

GL GL GL have fun and take it all the waaayyyy!!!!!

steadycash (about 1 year ago - 04 Oct 2010 01:47 UTC)

I am going to start this now, when I have time between now and thrusday I will play a few of these. They will count towards the 100 total.

steadycash (about 1 year ago - 04 Oct 2010 03:23 UTC)

Well in the limited time I played a few of these just to see how it went. I have determined a few things: 1. The majority of step 1 players are down right awful. (I am not suprised) 2. When I win a seat to the next level I have to play it (I can’t bank level 1 tickets), so when you see a result and the buyin is $0 you will know that was played with a free ticket. 3. this is going to take me a long ass time :)

steadycash (about 1 year ago - 04 Oct 2010 03:33 UTC)

Also, there will never be a 2nd place in any of these as 1st and 2nd are always the same. So when you see a first place that means I got top 2 and a ticket to the next level. Once all 100 step 1’s are complete (not free tickets but the paid ones), I will give the summary of how many step 2 we have and then I will begin playing those.

steadycash (about 1 year ago - 04 Oct 2010 03:49 UTC)

So I paid for 3 step 1’s, I got 1 step 2, I replayed step 1’s twice, and I won $1.50 for the 4th place finish. So far I think this is a good start.

stolkstefan (about 1 year ago - 04 Oct 2010 15:08 UTC)

can I just reserve 20 shares now? I can’t get on stars atm.. so I will pay you tonight..

stolkstefan (about 1 year ago - 04 Oct 2010 15:10 UTC)

to be sure it’s not payed yet.. will pay you in about 7 hours

stolkstefan (about 1 year ago - 04 Oct 2010 15:15 UTC)

hmmm release the 20 shares.. Bought 19 shares via chipmeup acount

steadycash (about 1 year ago - 06 Oct 2010 03:12 UTC)

well tonights little run of 4 did not go so well, I lost some races and got called in bad spot by worse hands that won. Was running very well when I lost QQ vs A7, what does that guy put me on??? oh well

9dJhQhKhAh (about 1 year ago - 06 Oct 2010 05:45 UTC)

100 Step 1’s turns into a shit ton of SnG’s! I got a feeling we may end up with two step 6 tickets! GL!

steadycash (about 1 year ago - 07 Oct 2010 00:07 UTC)

10 shares reserved for Sandy H.

steadycash (about 1 year ago - 09 Oct 2010 04:35 UTC)

Good night, I played 15 total and got 8 1st’s for 8 step 2’s.

So far 25 step 1’s were played (not including the 4 replays from 3rd’s). I am ahead of my pace currently. If I get 27 step 2’s we will be even at the next level. Tall order but I think it is possible.

SaulGudde (about 1 year ago - 09 Oct 2010 14:28 UTC)

Keep it going!!

steadycash (about 1 year ago - 10 Oct 2010 04:49 UTC)

5 for 16 tonight, took some rough beats along the way which prevented me from a few more. I am slightly worried that these higher steps do not fill very often. I am hoping they are more active tomorrow on a Sunday. If not it could take a LOOOOONG time to go through all of these.

I am still well ahead of pace with 15 step 2’s out of 41 paid step 1’s (46 total).

steadycash (about 1 year ago - 12 Oct 2010 04:30 UTC)

not a great session, things did not go my way so well, I played 17 and only 4 step 2’s so far 19 step 2’s for 58 played, still ahed of schedule but not what I hoped for.

steadycash (about 1 year ago - 13 Oct 2010 04:23 UTC)

O man what a crappy session,, I started out just getting coolered and nothing was going my way, pretty rare I have that many low position finishes in a row. Only 1 Step 2 out of 13…gulp that killed my average. I do have 2 step 3’s that I should have won but instead still have to play the next session. So we are stuck at 20 step 2’s with 30 paid step 1’s to go, I need to get 7 firsts to make my average but I was so hoping for more. I should be able to finish the steps 1’s in 2 or 3 more sessions.

Dark_Matter_13 (about 1 year ago - 13 Oct 2010 12:38 UTC)

Well played thus far – got the crappy session out of the way before getting to the more serious levels right :) Optimist always… Good luck today…

steadycash (about 1 year ago - 15 Oct 2010 05:19 UTC)

tonight was better, 5 more step 2’s with 16 paid step 1’s to go. Outside of the 4 3rd place finsihes I got sigh… should have at least had 2 more 1st’s. Only need 2 more step 1’s to break even going on to the next level.

jimmiijimjim (about 1 year ago - 15 Oct 2010 15:59 UTC)

Are you going to run another one of these at some point…..!! (I assume not!)

steadycash (about 1 year ago - 15 Oct 2010 16:05 UTC)

LOL, well I am not sure, I guess it depends on how long this one takes.

I am thinking if I do another one, I might do Full Tilt. I will let everyone know.

steadycash (about 1 year ago - 16 Oct 2010 04:21 UTC)

ok I hit the mark I was shooting for to at least get 28 Step 2’s, I have 8 more paid step 1’s to complete before I can move onto the step 2’s and that is when the fun really begins. I assume I should have 30 to 31 step 2’s going onto the next round. As I move onto the next round, I will not play any of the step 1’s I may get from 5th place finishes. I will bank them and play then later. If I could not have so many 3rd’s I could have alot more step 2’s :(

9dJhQhKhAh (about 1 year ago - 16 Oct 2010 18:22 UTC)

Yes you should do one for FTP, I think I might copy you and run one myself :)

It would be sick for say, the FTOPS ME, set the event up for $640, which would almost be 200 Step 1’s (eeek), that’s just an example but all you have to do is get two step 6’s, pay out one to the buyers and then we’re freerolling the ME. weeeeeee

steadycash (about 1 year ago - 16 Oct 2010 19:07 UTC)

Yeah I am not convinced it will be worth the time I put in on stars.

This is ALOT of man hours here and I am only at the beginning.

At least with Tilt I can leave a bunch of higher steps to use for actual buyins that everyone would be a part of. I will still play this out and see how many I actually have to play.

But yeah 200 sitngo’s, man thank god for turbos. I try never to play more than 4 or 5 at one time. I used to multitable 12 sitngo’s but back then the players were just awful, now you actually have to pay a bit more attention to stack size, position, and bubbles which requires more attention.

steadycash (about 1 year ago - 18 Oct 2010 02:40 UTC)

ok first phase is complete.

results:

total sitngo’s played: 114
total step 2’s to play: 32 (I went above my goal of 30)
total cash won so far: $19.50

ok I am going to start the step 2’s tonight GL us!!!

9dJhQhKhAh (about 1 year ago - 18 Oct 2010 04:21 UTC)

I’m setting the line at 200 SnG’s

I’ll take the over :)

steadycash (about 1 year ago - 18 Oct 2010 05:19 UTC)

well session 2 did not go so well. I played 8 step 2’s with only 1 step 3 and 2 redo’s of which I used 1 already.

So basically I went 1 for 6 :( 26 more step 2’s to play this week.

SaulGudde (about 1 year ago - 19 Oct 2010 01:52 UTC)

gl!!!

steadycash (about 1 year ago - 19 Oct 2010 04:48 UTC)

Man I am just getting crushed in the step 2’s, If you notice I am frequently getting it in with the best hand but it is never holding and costing me step 3’s. I am currently 1 for 10 and that is dreadful.

I need a good run to happen here soon.

steadycash (about 1 year ago - 26 Oct 2010 13:27 UTC)

I have been having major back issues and not playing, I did play 2 on Sunday and got a 7th and I won the other. So far we have 2 step 3’s.

I hope to finish these up very soon, and then on the the next steps.

still have 15 more step 2’s to play

steadycash (about 1 year ago - 27 Oct 2010 20:36 UTC)

I played 8 step 2’s and got 4 step 3’s and a couple repeats.

reLinq (about 1 year ago - 29 Oct 2010 07:45 UTC)

come on!!

steadycash (about 1 year ago - 29 Oct 2010 21:34 UTC)

Just played 4 more and got 2 firsts and 1 redo. so basicaly 2 for 3 :)

Intersting stat, after getting my teeth kicked in early on the step 2’s, in the last 14 I have played.

Nothing worse than 5th place
2 5ths good (good for step 1)
5 3rds or 4ths (good for redo’s)
7 firsts (step 3’s)

At this pace these may never end lol

This is like going 7 step3’s for 9 on the step 2’s when you take out the redos.

Dark_Matter_13 (about 1 year ago - 31 Oct 2010 04:22 UTC)

Nice :) THanks for all the hard work

steadycash (about 1 year ago - 01 Nov 2010 00:44 UTC)

ok finally finished all the step 2’s. After a very slow start I picked up steem and killed it at the end.

So we currently have:

Step 1’s 7
Step 2’s 0
Step 3’s 11

Now is when the step fill slower so when I am on I will try to get a few in but please be patient.

Good luck to us

PLayed 2 and just got screwed, lost to a cooler and then a guy called my huge shove ane we both had chips from early hands. he wins and has 5k, if I had won I would have 6k and almost a shoe in for a step 4

This is truly amazing to me, I am getting coolered and just flat out badluck to not even finish in the top 5. I am playing these solid and just getting the raw deal.

Only 5 step 3’s left and I am 0 for 6 so far. I would never have guess that.

Sorry everyone for such a miserable showing so far. I was going to finish these up today but since I am 0 for 6 I need a break.

steadycash (about 1 year ago - 08 Nov 2010 14:57 UTC)

I am going to try and finish this up this week and hopefully all of the step 3’s this afternoon. I am truly disappointed with how the step 3’s have gone.

I am going to do this again but on FT I think, the steps just seem to be way more useful since you can get out at aot of levels for tounrey buyins.

As a whole I could have used 11 step 3 seats into 11 $75 tournies on FT where I have a great +EV to our combo.

But I’m confident variance will balance out for you, gl!

Anything non-turbo with multiple seats gets my vote. But ultimately, it’s still mostly your money – we just have pieces.. so just go with your gut and whatever you do with it I’m pulling for you 1000%!

+1 MDM also remember there is a experation date on them and must be used before a specific time. GLGLGL

MDMWINS (about 1 year ago - 15 Nov 2010 05:36 UTC)

or close out and pay winnings + repost the step 6 then the ones who want to join again does so :) ?

steadycash (about 1 year ago - 15 Nov 2010 05:39 UTC)

my tickets do not show an expiration date so I believe we are good.

so far a non-turbo sat is also my preference. the isse is it could be like 5 weeks before I play. I need to make sure this is ok with everyone. in a perfect world I will turn the last step 4 into another step 6 :)

steadycash (about 1 year ago - 15 Nov 2010 05:46 UTC)

Cant payout the winnings since there really are none except for $24 so far. If I could cash out then that would be a possabilty but unfortunately we are in this for the long haul.

homespun71 (about 1 year ago - 15 Nov 2010 05:54 UTC)

so if i understand correctly the ticket can not be turned into T$? If so i will just go with the consensus of other investors. Non turbo sounds like a better op.

Good Luck.

steadycash (about 1 year ago - 15 Nov 2010 06:07 UTC)

yes, correct, they CANNOT be turned into T$ and you must play the step 6 ticket.

carlosmuc (about 1 year ago - 15 Nov 2010 10:30 UTC)

Like most of the others, i would say nonturbo MTT.

For the Step4, it would be ok for me, not to say i would prefer, if you play the Sunday Million with that, before trying to reach step5.
What do the others think?

jimmiijimjim (about 1 year ago - 15 Nov 2010 13:17 UTC)

I think the NAPT route is probably going to be best. If the step 4 can be used for the Millie that’d be good too.

danipan05 (about 1 year ago - 15 Nov 2010 13:32 UTC)

I agree with the majority. Non-turbo MTT.

dunkelb1 (about 1 year ago - 15 Nov 2010 15:03 UTC)

Play the Step 6 for PCA seat!

LuckotR (about 1 year ago - 15 Nov 2010 15:21 UTC)

napt sounds good for me.

jellycz (about 1 year ago - 15 Nov 2010 15:35 UTC)

I suggest to keep an eye an the SNG step 6 for a while, the larger MTT is better in general, but you might be able to find a SNG with 2 or 3 weak spots in.
NAPT is better than PCA by my guess.

Hm, i would have taken the Step5 for an PCA MTT Entry, but ok to late now.
Start again ;) GL

RlseTheKraken (about 1 year ago - 22 Nov 2010 17:35 UTC)

UL but still can get a nice win GLGLGL………..

steadycash (about 1 year ago - 22 Nov 2010 17:57 UTC)

I believe this will sit on hold now for a while until I see the right event. I hope you all are fine with that. If anyone prefers to have their money back instead of waiting I would be happy to offer you a full refund since this could take a while.

Thanks

steadycash (about 1 year ago - 25 Nov 2010 14:24 UTC)

Relinq has been issued a full refund.

Any others just let me know, this could still be a while until the right event shows up.

9dJhQhKhAh (about 1 year ago - 29 Nov 2010 08:11 UTC)

Question, WHEN :) you win the PCA package, it is valued at $14778, yet the tournament buy-in is only $10,300. I’m assuming the rest gets allocated to hotel/spending cash.

Is that portion added to winnings?

steadycash (about 1 year ago - 29 Nov 2010 15:28 UTC)

I like the word WHEN :)

Unfortunately only the event is part of the prize pool. The hotel is part of expenses for travel so that will not be paid out.

First things first, lets win the trip.

jimmiijimjim (about 1 year ago - 29 Nov 2010 19:41 UTC)

lol at getting $12 refunded!

Surely 58% of the hotel/expenses belongs to the investors WHEN the package is won? Maybe we can all come stay for 12 hours and have half a breakfast or something!

9dJhQhKhAh (about 1 year ago - 29 Nov 2010 20:01 UTC)

I would understand flight/hotel as that’s included in the package, but spending cash as well?

steadycash (about 1 year ago - 29 Nov 2010 20:45 UTC)

please note the of the $1k you get you need to purhcase airline tickets (Yes my wife would go), meals (food is VERY expensive there and will cost me much more than the 1k they give you), and taxis to and from places.

Lets just take this one step at a time, (no pun intended) and see if I can get a package :)

RlseTheKraken (about 1 year ago - 30 Nov 2010 17:01 UTC)

Ill just have a dry Bagel and small Orange juice and call it good on top of the CASH………………………………..GLGLGL

steadycash (about 1 year ago - 30 Nov 2010 17:03 UTC)

:) I feel so bad for this taking so long. I am glad you guys understand I do not want to rush this. As getting a step 6 was the ultimate goal

jimmiijimjim (about 1 year ago - 30 Nov 2010 22:42 UTC)

Ha ha one step at a time.

You could buy everyone something while you’re out there! Maybe everyone with 10+ shares or something?

feijao1969 (about 1 year ago - 02 Dec 2010 08:26 UTC)

C´mon steady, the last night yes, was so bad. keep believe.

steadycash (about 1 year ago - 14 Dec 2010 19:02 UTC)

I am talking about a Step 6 MTT that would get like 50 players

steadycash (about 1 year ago - 14 Dec 2010 21:54 UTC)

Refund issed to MDMWINS per his request

9dJhQhKhAh (about 1 year ago - 15 Dec 2010 06:14 UTC)

are refunds being paid out with current winnings (2100) or is it just refunding shares?

Lot of variance in a PCA parlay, from a buyers perspective, I’d like you to play the step 6 (NAPT is too far), and pay out the winnings according to value of package.

But if you want to parlay, I’m ok with that.

carlosmuc (about 1 year ago - 15 Dec 2010 10:17 UTC)

Same question!
“Refunding” is not the best word. It can only be a payout (percentage of the 2100$ ticket).
NAPT looks too far away for me. In that case i would take my 0.35% of the 2100$ Ticket.
If you play a PCA SnG in the next days, the parlay would be ok for me.

steadycash (about 1 year ago - 15 Dec 2010 15:24 UTC)

OK, let me clear this up. While I do have a step 6 ticket, it has no cash value. I cannot cash it out, I cannot use it for anything other than a step 6 buyin event. Therefore I cannot payout a cash value of $2100 or I could just cashout this event and we all would triple our money (Which is not possible).

I use the word refund because it is a refund of what you paid for the event. Our event is still worth zero until I play the step 6 ticket.

I simply offered a refund on the purchase price only. I realize it is to my discretion as what to play and when but I wanted everyone to have an opinion.

In all honesty I think I prefer to play the turbo MTT on a Sunday night and here is why.

1: More prizes given

2: I like to think I am pretty good at turbos but
there is still a shit ton of luck involved.

3: If you don’t win the package usually there are several $2100 prizes won which is your money back and not a step 6 ticket which would allow me to payout everyone a $2100 win, IF I get to the top of this very tough field.

I think turbos take out a bit of the top notch player advantage by the shear fact you have to have a good hand at the right time.

I know how it goes though, bustosoon shoves on the button with Q3, I call with AK and he spikes a 3 to take he pot and knock me out.

So looking at that and taking all of this in consideration.

I can tell you all this. I will NOT wait for the NAPT, I WILL play a step 6 buyin for PCA.

More than likely I will not be playing this until Sunday December 26th as I am gone this weekend for family Christmas on Sunday.

I am strictly now going to send out a message to all and whatever the consensus is I will play.

I am comfortable with my sitngo game as well as my turbo game so either way I do not feel out of my element. Please post your vote in comments after his pot those are the ones that will count.

Lastly I would like to THANK everyone for their patience, understanding, and willingness to rail me when I do play. It will be good fun.

Should I decide to do this on Full Tilt next, it would never take this long as you have multiple chances to get out and play MTT’s which could be a much higher win percentage and this would not take nearly as long.

MagooBLue (about 1 year ago - 15 Dec 2010 15:32 UTC)

turbo MTT, i believe in you :)

carlosmuc (about 1 year ago - 15 Dec 2010 15:36 UTC)

Ok, i prefer the same as you, for the same reasons.

Play the Turbo MTT!
Without a little luck (or lets say without having bad luck) you cant win a SnG also.
So take down a package, have fun at the Bahamas, and bring back some money for us ;)

RlseTheKraken (about 1 year ago - 15 Dec 2010 15:37 UTC)

I vote the SNG 1/3 for some type cash or package. GL
